Last minute distractions

Oh, the little tasks that "creep" up... all the way to the last minute before leaving. You know, the unexpected things like "taxes" and "packing" and "culling excess from the closet". Unexpected? Humph. I like to think that they are all unexpected. Well, my point is that there is so much to do, but never enough time to do it in. And, in the end, I am sad when these tasks get in the way of playing baseball with Jed, or playing with Chloe's princess stuff, or just rolling around on the floor with them. It's not that we haven't had time to do all those fun things...in fact, we have had LOTS of fun the past three weeks. But, there is never enough of those times when you're preparing to be gone for an entire year! Today has been bogged down by tax preparation, filing some paperwork, and I still have to pack... we're leaving tomorrow for southern California. I am enjoying listening to the laughs and excitement of Jedidiah and Chloe as they play with Mommy in the hallway.
---
Off to get some paperwork notarized, then back home to finish tax prep, then ... we'll get the kids again for bedtime. And up late tonight for packing!
---
In the end, there are no tasks as important as loving my family.
