A wonderful surprise yesterday as I drove to Long Beach to discover that D didn't fly out yesterday as I expected...but was flying out this morning instead! I was able to rescue him from the smallest twin bed ever made and a room that he had to share with another soldier. While that soldier is likely funnier than me, he isn't as cute as I am. ;) I suppose his wife would disagree with me on that.
After a looooong (but very informative) day of training, I am safely tucked away in my hotel room, blogging. D is safely in Kansas (hopefully sleeping). C & J are exhausted and settling into bed with their grandparents at the helm. They would have been asleep earlier if I hadn't called and bantered on (and on and on). It was fun to sing our family "honey bunch" song though...and I could sense that it brought them some comfort. What is a mother to do when your children want you home RIGHT NOW (and you are several hours away)? Here is, yet another example of a place where prayer comes in really handy
It is definitely difficult to be away from my children. I am certainly feeling the blessing of having a wonderful friend (who really enjoys my babies) and grandparents at home helping them both to navigate the weekend, in the midst of a stressful "season" in our lives.
Now, I just want to get J's cough fully under control and I'll feel much better about things.
I am heading off to do some Beth Moore homework before I wrap up the day.
